Activity Search : Dinghy Sailing

Dinghy sailing offers a great way to get on the water and is possibly the cheapest way to get afloat!

Whether you are taking your first steps afloat, want to learn all about asymmetrics, would like to become an instructor, or just want to have a bit of fun, Wales provides ideal sailing waters for all ability levels.

Sail with dramatic mountain ranges as your backdrop, launch your boat from picturesque harbours, or make use of our world class facilities at Pwllheli and Cardiff Bay.

These spectacularly diverse surroundings are matched by the variety of dinghy sailing on offer, from easy to handle basic boats, to demanding modern racers, solo single handers to double handed craft and catamarans. Beginners are best off learning the ropes - and seeing what suits them - on one of the many RYA approved courses run by operators throughout Wales. The more experienced can enjoy the pleasure of sailing - from a potter on the water to a storming competitive session in a testing racing dinghy - almost everywhere along the coast.
