Cardiff International White Water Centre
Cardiff International White Water (CIWW) is situated at International Sports Village in Cardiff Bay. Conveniently positioned on the Bay Edge walkway, you will be able to access the site and view action on the water before taking the plunge into the rapids. For a thrilling water sports adventure we offer a unique environment of on-demand white water, plus access to a diverse river system for flat water paddlers only a stones throw away from the city with all it has to offer. In addition you can feed your need for adrenalin with one of our popular off site activities, such as gorge walking or surfing.
Who is welcome… CIWW is open to everyone. Along with multi activity on the water we offer a comfortable and relaxing café offering Wi-Fi access and two conference rooms offering the very latest facilities; this is a centre for everyone.
Our Staff…All members of the team are dedicated to ensuring that programmes are delivered to the highest professional standards. All instructors hold appropriate National Governing Body Instructor/Coach qualifications from British Canoe Union (BCU), and have the necessary relevant experience in the activities that they supervise.
Our offer… CIWW also boasts a retail area where you will be able to take home a souvenir in the form of unforgettable photos of your raft trips, buy one of our special T shirts, or collect some forgotten canoe equipment!!
Our facility… CIWW caters for corporate team development and facilitating national governing body coach education and elite training. We are recognised as a centre of excellence by several bodies including Canoe Wales and the BCU. We are used as a training venue by Europe’s rescue services.
PADDLE SCHOOL
Cardiff International White Water ‘Paddle School’ provides a complete service. Suitable for those wishing to try all disciplines of this fantastic sport for the first time, to those who require a few top tips from our experienced coaching team, Paddle School offers training and guidance for beginners to experienced paddlers.
You can choose from our range of courses from our ‘try it’ days, or develop your technique whilst working towards British Canoe Union awards. Why not have a look, you never know what you may find?
We cannot recommend enough the importance of learning with experienced coaches to guide you through your first paddle strokes and build your confidence. Our coaching team is made up of some of the most experienced coaches you will find!
Want to become a raft guide?
Then learn with the best at the National Raft Guide School. The NRGS runs BCU raft guide training and assessment courses throughout the year. Our staff work on site and can work at your place of choice if you require technical advice.
