Cardiff Marina Summer Open Day

Saturday July 4th 2009 sees Cardiff Marina open their gates to the public for their Summer Open Day. From 1-5pm the public can come to the newly extended 350 berth marina and see the outstanding new facilities on offer for themselves.

From 3rd-5th July 2009 berths are available for only £5 a night, and for all berths secured on the day, the marina is offering a free lift out and wash off and the berth at the annual rate pro rata for the rest of the mooring year. Situated on the International Sports Village site in Cardiff Bay, next door to the Olympic white water rafting and canoe slalom centre, the marina has just added another 150 berths to its facilities on the River Ely. With each berth offering water, electricity and free Wi-Fi at very reasonable mooring rates, this event offers the perfect opportunity for boat owners to come and try the facilities for themselves first-hand.

Entertainment on the day includes a free BBQ and refreshments, live music, a raffle with proceeds going to the RNLI and a selection of new and used boats for sale.

Director of Operations Rob Freemantle commented ‘We are very proud of the facilities we offer at Cardiff Marina. Our spacious berths and sheltered location are perfect for boats of all sizes and boat owners of all abilities. We look forward to welcoming people to the marina for this event to see for themselves how our site has developed over the past 2 years.’

With first class berths in demand in the Cardiff Bay area, the development of Cardiff Marina has been a welcome addition. The expansion at the marina by Cardiff Marine Group has run alongside the creation of the marine business park, Cardiff Marine Village, and the continued growth of Cardiff Marine Services, to help create a complete range of services for boat owners in the area.
